Abstract
This article presents an analytical view of the techniques developed to
awaken the student of the second year of high school at the Escola Estadual
Frei André da Costa of the afternoon shift in the city of Tefé for the
construction of literary knowledge through literature specifically the literary
work Maria de Dirceu. Above all, this study emphasized the interpretation and
experience of teachers and students present in this reality, thus presenting a
critical and reflective analysis of the concerns that arise due to the lack of
interest of students in reading and especially in literary texts, and with the
intention of emphasizing the importance of the study of literature for the high
school student, leading him to have contact with a work by an author who was
part of the history of our country, but who also had his ideology and therefore
was prevented to live his great love.
