ABSTRACT
This article addresses the theme that discusses the
black population in Venda Nova do Imigrante, ES. Its scientific relevance lies
in the fact that it presents to the academic environment the possibility of
deeper studies on the presence of these individuals from very early on in the
occupation of the Brazilian territory and in the mountainous region of the
state of Espírito Santo, present in the coffee plantations and in the opening
of roads. Its social relevance lies in the condition of expanding knowledge
about the struggles and conflicts between ethnic groups. This is a
bibliographical research, based on discourse analysis as an instrument for
interpreting the thought exposed in the consulted works. Constructing a
positive, solid black identity in a society that, historically, teaches blacks
from a very early age that to be accepted it is necessary to deny oneself,
proves to be a very heavy challenge to be faced by blacks and women. black
Brazilians. What highlights, pedagogically and didactically, is that, at
school, are teachers and trainers aware of this issue? Could it be that
education, as a path to the integral formation of man, as a means of preparing
for full citizenship, incorporates this reality in a serious and responsible
way? There is no disagreement that, as the former black slaves were in
miserable conditions, they accepted to work for those who owned something,
donated by the Brazilian State, in exchange for food and shelter and were
exploited again, now in a less perverse way to the eyes of the [so-called]
humanists. The issue of the presence, even of prejudice against blacks, in
Brazil, is due to the ideological discourse, in which, in order to justify the
dehumanizing condition of slavery against equals, in the sense of understanding
that they are human beings, the Catholic Church disseminated the idea that they
had in their soul. By this term, it is understood, they do not think, do not
feel, do not abstract; they are things and so they reified a whole group of
people, indistinctly.
