ABSTRACT
This text

(1964-1985)'. Its scientific relevance lies in the fact that it broadens
knowledge about one of the important psychiatrists in the history of Brazilian
medicine. Its social relevance lies in presenting to the general public the concepts
and forms of scientific work adopted by the physician. Its general objective is
to carry out a study about the life of Nise da Silveira, correlating her
psychiatric work with the moment of military dictatorship in the country. As an
investigative method, a bibliographic research will be carried out, taking a
materialist-dialectical approach as a way of revealing the internal and of the
object to be studied, its causes and consequences. Nise da Silveira represents
